Last updated: 14 April 2026
AfterStumps ("we", "us", "our") is an Australian business that operates the AfterStumps platform — a website builder and management service for community cricket clubs. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
By using AfterStumps, you agree to the collection and use of information as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the platform.
Note: This policy covers the AfterStumps platform itself. Individual cricket clubs using AfterStumps are responsible for their own privacy practices and the personal data they collect from their members.
1. Who we are
AfterStumps is an Australian business based in Victoria. If you have any questions about this policy, you can contact us at [email protected].
2. What personal information we collect
We collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for us to provide our services. This may include:
- Account information: your name and email address when you register for an AfterStumps account.
- Club information: club name, location, contact details, and content you create and upload as a club administrator or editor.
- Billing information: subscription plan and payment method details. Payment processing is handled by Stripe — we do not store your full card number. Stripe's privacy policy is available at stripe.com/au/privacy.
- Usage data: log data including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps, collected automatically when you use the platform.
- Communications: any messages you send us via email or support channels.
We only collect information that is necessary for our services. You may choose not to provide certain information, but this may limit your ability to use parts of the platform.
3. How we collect your information
We collect personal information:
- directly from you when you register an account, create or manage a club, or contact us;
- automatically through your use of the platform (usage and log data); and
- from Stripe when payment events occur (e.g. successful subscription payments).
4. Why we collect your information
We use your personal information to:
- create and manage your account and club;
- process subscription payments and manage billing;
- provide customer support and respond to enquiries;
- send service-related communications (e.g. invoices, plan change confirmations);
- send occasional product updates or announcements — you can opt out at any time; and
- improve, maintain, and secure the platform.
We will not use your personal information for any purpose that is unrelated to the above without your consent.
5. Disclosure to third parties
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may disclose your information to trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the platform, including:
- Stripe — payment processing (United States). Stripe is certified to the PCI DSS standard.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — cloud hosting and file storage. Data may be stored on servers located outside Australia (including in the United States and Singapore). AWS maintains security certifications including ISO 27001.
- AWS Simple Email Service (SES) — transactional email delivery.
These providers are contractually required to handle your data only as directed by us and in accordance with applicable privacy laws. We take reasonable steps to ensure they maintain adequate data protection standards, consistent with APP 8 (cross-border disclosure).
We may also disclose personal information if required by law, a court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of AfterStumps, our users, or others.
6. Data security
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure. These steps include encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and using reputable cloud infrastructure providers. However, no method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data retention
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you close your account, we will delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, unless we are required to retain it by law (e.g. financial records for tax purposes).
8. Access and correction
Under the Australian Privacy Principles, you have the right to request access to, and correction of, the personal information we hold about you. To make a request, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond within a reasonable time (generally within 30 days) and will not charge a fee for making a request, though we may charge a reasonable fee for providing access if the request is complex.
We may decline access or correction requests in certain circumstances permitted by the APPs, and will provide written reasons if we do so.
9. Cookies and tracking
The AfterStumps platform uses session cookies that are essential for account authentication and security. We do not use third-party advertising trackers or analytics cookies on the platform. Public club websites hosted on AfterStumps do not include any tracking by default.
10. Complaints
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first at [email protected]. We will investigate and respond within 30 days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at www.oaic.gov.au or by calling 1300 363 992.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify account holders by email before the changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
